Copyright © http://www.SecondOsho.com – Get Enlightened Today! ™

This article explains what being mindful is, the benefits and simple exercises through which a person can attain a mindful state. Being mindful is an important element on the path to Enlightenment. It means being aware of the movements happening internally and externally. It means not thinking of the past or the future. It means a person observes things in his surrounds deeply like in rapt attention. His mind is like a rock not moving to what is happening externally but is silently watching like a spectator. His mind is not like the water in the pond in which waves can be generated by throwing a rock.

The Mindful state can only be experienced; it is like being in the moment, similar to a Zen like state. Have you ever watched the discovery channel a scene where the tiger is about to make a kill. Before setting out it becomes totally still. It watches silently and then makes a move at the best opportune moment. Similarly watch the Kendo fights you would see stillness and rapid movements. This is quite unlike a person in daily life we as adults involuntary make several movements some people are in the habit of shaking their legs while sitting or looking here and there.

Being mindful has its own vast array of life transforming benefits some of the obvious ones like elimination of stress, happiness, focused mind, good memory and sharp observation skills. A person could write a book on the various benefits with such a small thing as being mindful. And these benefits cannot be obtained through buying any man made luxury item, health product or driving a FerrariJ.

The question comes how to achieve a Mindful state. How to achieve the state of the no mind? There are several techniques to it. I will share some simple techniques that you can follow anywhere you are. You don’t need to go to the Himalayas or vacation to a distant meditation resort. You can be in a meeting room full of people and you can practice it. You can be doing anything and still you can follow these simple techniques to become mindful.

Lets start with a quite common technique. This technique involves counting the breaths at exhalation. When you breath in and breath out count this as 1, say 1 in your mind and do this till you have counted 100 breaths. It is a very subtle but a very powerful technique which the Buddhist monks have been teaching and practicing themselves. It can also be evolved into various different forms. When a person counts his breaths, his breathing becomes better and normal, anything on which the consciousness ponders there is chi or Qi as the Chinese call it and also the foundation of Reiki. It also helps in moving the mind away from any external disturbances or thoughts from the past or worries of the future.

You need to begin with this meditation technique for a start and it can also be evolved into various forms like counting the steps taken while walking or observing and counting any movement happening externally. At the same time one needs to minimize one’s own body movements and staying still. You will notice that on following this even for a couple of days you feel refreshed, exhilarated and finally start realizing the benefits of meditation.

Copyright © http://www.SecondOsho.com – Get Enlightened Today! ™

A value centric approach is the key to life today. In this fast paced life things are losing their value pretty quickly. Take for example your computer. The price you bought it, you won’t be able to get when you sell it. Where have the 1000$ you put in gone, simply vanished in thin air? Or take for instance your cellphone, today you buy a very high end mobile phone and the next year it’s pretty worthless. Technology is changing at a very rapid pace. There are millions of technology professionals today who are paid quite a lot to keep churning out new and better technology. Although the new technology may not have enough value but it has enough fizz to take out the cash from the consumers pocket. The Apple iPhone today is the most profitable mobile business today and leads the profit for a single handset by 15 to 1 over the previous most profitable company Nokia. Tomorrow some other new mobile may come and charm the end user. But where is the value? A person can still be in touch with an old 50$ Nokia handset. Or does he need to continuously spend money to buy newer and newer mobiles?

The value centric approach tells us to find the value, create it and preserve it. It is a bit difficult at the start because one needs to control one’s senses and desires. The benefits are amazing. Take Warren Buffet he got rich by following the value approach and not the common wall street approach. If he had followed the same approach would he have met the same fate as the Lehman Brothers? Maybe, Maybe Not. Every human being holds some things important in life, for example for you the important thing may be peace of mind, health, time, money or relationships. Each thing has some value for example you may value your relationships at work heavily. By following the value centric approach you can have more of the things you value. You can find more time, more money and you can have better relationships with people. Sounds improbable yes, but this law is a rule, just like by gravity everything gets pulled down to the ground.

Now we come to the complex question how to find the value of anything. It is easy for example you want to find the value of a relationship. Just think in 10 years where will this take me or what value this thing will hold for me in the next 10 years. Take family relations they would be of prime importance to anyone. Building strong, healthy, caring, joyful relationships with relatives and close family is of absolute importance. Or take for instance at your workplace you may have a boss. How would you see yourself connected to him in the next 10 years. Will a good positive relationship with your boss over time pay you rich dividends? Simple isn’t it.

I will list down some primary things which are valued heavily you can add what you feel like as comment.
Good Education, Good Health, Social Contacts, Good Personality. Remember what may be good for the economy may not be good for you. Casinos, Cigarettes, Alcohol, Lotteries are good for the government and the company sponsoring it but they may not be good for the person. A doctor and hospital may get benefited by the patient who got cancer from tobacco but not the person himself. The whole internet is populated with weight loss diets, programs and people have opened numerous large centers for weight loss who will gain by fat people coming to them for their weight loss, but you will not gain anything by being fat.

If a person eats good home cooked food which is nutritious I can say he is adding value to his body. But when he eats pizzas and coke, or smokes a cigarette, or does anything that is bad for health he is destructing value and if he is paying to do that he is the sponsor for destructing value. Big companies get great sports persons and celebrities to add value to their companies and they pay them millions. The same companies may or may not have a product that is destructing value for humans. But it is good for the owners of the company and for the company and the celebrity who gets millions to sponsor a wrong activity.

It is for the person to decide in what ways he can add value to his own life. What kind of work say after a period of 10 years will gain the person a distinct value advantage over others. If he holds stocks is he adding value to the company or adding value to his stock broker. If he eats food is he adding value to his body or damaging his body. If a person buys a new technology item is he adding value to his assets or throwing his value in the hands of the company who can again create something that can entice the end user to throw more value.

Second Osho can only show the door and plant a seed in your mind. It is for you to think about it, nourish the seed and water it and grow a habit and transform a life for yourself.

Copyright © http://www.SecondOsho.com – Get Enlightened Today! ™

In this post Second Osho will explain the benefit of eating food the right way. Many people do not understand the combustion process happening inside our bodies. I will explain with an example. Take for an instance your car, to run it needs gas. The engine of the car uses gas and uses the energy present in the gas to run the car. The energy in the gas is taken out by the process of combustion. Also take an example of the kitchen stove it uses heat energy to turn raw vegetables and spices into an eatable dish.

The same way think of your body as a vehicle. The driver is your conscious mind. It needs energy to run. In the body to produce energy from food such high temperatures cannot be produced. To burn down the food and produce energy the human body enzymes come into picture. They help to burn the food down in the stomach and produce energy for the body without needing to produce such high temperatures.

This was identified by the Indian Yogis thousands of years ago one of their saying is still know

” A Yogi eats just once in a day, a pleasure seeker eats twice and a diseased eats three times in day”

Now what about the world’s best health professionals who recommend eating 5 times a day. I don’t know where they would go but they have no place defined by the yogis. Maybe they would become more diseased and sick, maybe not. Not enough scientific research has been done or if yes then not from the trusted sources so we don’t know. But still from the common sense we can assume that if our body fire burns 5 times in a day to burn the food down it will not be very effective and it will lead to various troubles namely gastroenteritis troubles, lack of energy from food not being burned down fully, feeling of hunger as enough energy has not been derived form the past meal, constipation and several more.

Following are the http://secondosho.com/ recommended 22 basic rules of eating for a long and healthy life.

1. Eating only when feeling hungry.
2. Munching food completely before swallowing.
3. Not eating more than 3 times a day.
4. Not taking water, cold drink or any hot/cold beverage with your food.
5. Avoiding junk food even once a month.
6. Avoiding colas.
7. Taking at least a 100 steps after having food.
8. Not talking while eating.
9. Not watching TV or working while eating.
10. Eating only when salivating.
11. Not eating too sugary, salty, spicy food.
12. Eating natural food and avoiding ready made and 1/2 minute foods.
13. Eating warm and freshly cooked food.
14. Eating at a specific time in the day and not randomly.
15. Eating at least 3 hours before sleeping.
16. Not eating more than appetite.
17. Eating a bit less than appetite.
18. Eating at home when possible and avoiding outside food.
19. Eating vegetarian food.
20. Avoiding luxury in food.
21. Thanking yourself, your family, your society, your country and god for the food that is going to nourish your body.
22. Eating clean food and drinking clean water.

Some of the rules you may not be able to follow because of your circumstances but following most of the rules will help you in getting the most out of the food you eat. You will feel energetic, healthier, smarter and will go on to lead a long healthy life.

Copyright © http://www.SecondOsho.com – Get Enlightened Today! ™

Good Habits lead us to prosperity and add value to our life. Adding value to ourselves adds value to our family, society, country and this world. Changing the world begins with changing ourselves. Habits can be a key in transforming ourselves for the better and thus changing the world. Read on to know how you can transform your life by following good habits and leaving the bad habits.

Some examples of good habits are
1. Early to rise and early to bed.
2. Reaching our destination in time or a little before.
3. Not spending more than the budget.
4. Reading books in light and in the correct posture.
5. Making friends and fostering good relationships.

Merriam Webster dictionary gives the following definition of a habit.

“Habits are routines of behavior that are repeated regularly, tend to occur subconsciously, without directly thinking consciously about them.”

You and I both have some goals in life like abundance of health, money, family, work, relationships, fame etc. These are positive goals. Every habit that a person has either helps him in achieving his goal or takes him away from it. Most habits are unconscious which means when you do that you are not aware. Our first job in transforming our life is to become aware of our habits. Once we become aware of the patterns we should recognize if it is a good habit or a bad one. And if we are not having a habit then we should turn our activity into a good habit.

For example you don’t have a fixed time to eat in the afternoons. It may be because you are not aware that you should eat food at a certain time in the day for best digestion or it may be that you are a busy person to whom the work can come at any time. With proper planning and work scheduling you can take out time in the day to eat at that specific hour.

Once a habit is formed you can create more good habits like sleeping early on Sunday’s and rising up fresh on Monday mornings. Why I say Sunday is that you can even form habits that take place between several weeks. Time is continuous only we humans divide the time in seconds, minutes, hours, days and so on.

Like the Chinese say “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”.

You can also form habits that aid you in weight loss for example you may involuntarily formed a habit to eat or drink even when you are not feeling hungry or your body does not need food. Breaking this habit can be done by either avoiding this activity or doing some other engaging fun activity in this time, which can take the mind of following this habit.

I hope I do make a small point in making you understand the value of our habits. Remember if you want to know if a habit is good, bad or neutral for you, think in terms of different time frame. Think of doing the activity where will you be in the next 10 days, and the next 10 months or the next 10 years. If you think that a particular activity can be good for you in all three scenarios keep doing it otherwise leave it for good.
